Phyllis Artz - Administrative Treasurer

.Phyllis has lived in Beavercreek with her husband, John, for 21 years. He works on the B-1 program. Their children Francis and Susan are both in college. Phyllis has degrees in political science, government finance, and business management and was a USAF budget officer and cost analyst. She is currently the manager of the Base Thrift Shop. In addition, Phyllis holds a volunteer position with a children’s charity in the Dayton area. Her past positions with the WPOSC include: reservations chair, newcomers chair, welfare chair, welfare treasurer, Thrift Shop chair, administrative treasurer and parliamentarian

Julie Zalewski - President

Julie lives in Beavercreek with her husband Dan, who is a Senior Military Professor at AFIT and her two children, Zoie, 12, and Joseph, 10.  Julie has a BA in Journalism from San Diego State University and has worked as a Technical Writer, a Software Tester, and in the fields of Advertising and Public Relations.  This will be Julies second term as WPOSC President.  She has been an active OSC member, participating in Skylarks, Thrift Shop, Evening Couples Gourmet and was AWTTW editor on their last assignment to WPAFB.  Julie uses her singing talent to perform with the Gem City Sweet Adelines Chorus and the “Wild Blue Yonder” barbershop quartet.  She enjoys scrapbooking, sewing, walking, and listening to her children play their instruments.

Ginger Dosedel - Second Vice President

Ginger lives in Beavercreek with her husband, Stefan and their children, Michael (14), Thomas (12), and Sean Patrick (7). She earned a B.S. degree in Economics from Villanova University.  Ginger has worked as an Economic Analyst and Financial Analyst in cost, budgeting and financial management at the Pentagon and at Wright-Patterson AFB. She founded Sew Much Comfort and Children in the Crossfire, authors the military spouses’ blog, SpouseBUZZ, teaches philosophy courses at her church, and is active in Boy Scouts of America

Ginger Chezem  - Recording Secretary

Ginger and her husband John (AFRL) live in Beavercreek with their two sons, Samuel (3) and Daniel (almost 2). She is currently a part-time stay-at-home mom and part-time nurse. Ginger received her B.S. degree in nursing from the University of Portland and has worked with physical rehabilitation patients before her current position of telephone triage. She is active in Skylarks and the International Wives Group and she enjoys playing with her boys, walking, crossword puzzles and reading. She is interested in finishing the remodeling of her home and getting to know a wider variety of OSC members.  This will be Gingers second term as Recording Secretary.

Rita Ryer - Welfare Treasurer

Rita lives in Beavercreek with her family. She has degrees in finance and business management from the State University of New York (SUNY) and has held a variety of public and private accounting and financial positions. She has volunteer experience as coordinator for the Humane Society and headed up the OSC’s Airman Appreciation Program at Scott AFB. Recently Rita’s interests have led her to education and a year para-teaching kindergarten and pottery at Camp WinShape in Georgia. This will be Rita’s second term as the Welfare Treasurer of the WPOSC.
